24 Weeks

I had a doctors appointment yesterday and it went really well. Dr. Luciani said the baby is good and healthy. Our baby girl is now a foot long and over a pound! Whew! I am measuring at 24cm which is not too big and not too small, its just perfect! The babies heartrate was 158!

I didn't have an ultrasound this month. Now come to think of it, yesterday was the second appointment I have had where I didn't get an ultrasound! All my other appointments, I have gotten ultrasounds. I'm pretty spoiled. I have one scheduled for my next appointment though!

I have to do the glucose test at my next appointment. Not looking forward to getting my blood drawn at all!! Hopefully I won't have to lay there for an hour like I did the last time I got my blood drawn. That was an experience.

For those of you who don't know, I am HORRIBLE with shots!! And I usually pass out. It's all mental, I know! The last time I had my blood drawn, it went pretty well. I layed down, they took my blood, and I was good to go! Or so I thought...

As I got up to go give a urine sample, I totally blacked out in the bathroom! Thankfully the bathroom was right across the hall from my room so I felt my way back to my room to lay back down before I actually pass out. After 30 minutes, I thought I was good so I got up to leave and what do ya know, it happened again!!

Whenever I get my blood drawn, I always have to have a small snack and something to drink. It's usually a Dr. Pepper and crackers and the doctors office always provides it. Well, the doctor that I was seeing didn't have anything in their office like that! They didn't even have water!!! Another reason I am glad I switched doctors.

Anyways, hopefully this next time will be better!! And I will take a caffeine free drink and a snack just in case!!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 24 weeks (6 months)

Size of baby: An ear of corn. About a foot long a over 1 pound

Total weight gain/loss: gained 7 pounds total

Maternity Clothes: I can still fit into my regular clothes but my shorts are really snug in the waist so I have been using the hair tie trick

Gender: Girl!!

Movement: I feel her ALL THE TIME!!! It's awesome!!

Sleep: I sleep pretty good but I've been having some lower back pain when I sleep

What I miss: nothing really

Cravings: grapes

Symptoms: Still the absent mindedness, lower back pain, acid reflux, and indigestion

Best moment this week: Doctors appointment and knowing that the baby is growing and healthy

23 weeks on my 22nd Birthday!

Well, I was actually 23 weeks yesterday but totally forgot to post about it yesterday. And yes, my birthday is today. Its been a bitter sweet day. I attended a funeral of a friend from high school this afternoon. My huband is also gone on my birthday and I miss him terribly. He did send me a bouquet of flowers though. Gah, he is just the sweetest man!!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along? 23 weeks

Size of baby: Size of a small baby doll and weighs over 1 pound!!

Total weight gain/loss: 3 pounds as of 3 weeks ago. I'm sure I've gained some weight since then.

Maternity Clothes: I worse my first maternity shirt a couple of days ago. Not because I had to but just because I liked it. I can still fit into my normal clothes.

Gender: Girl!!!

Movement: Oh my word. I don't know when this girl sleeps. She is always moving!!!

Sleep: Sleeping good but lately I've woken up with sore hips and sore lower back.

What I miss: Nothing really

Cravings: Just food

Symptoms: empty mindedness!!! Does that even make since? I can not remember ANYTHING!! Seriously! Im not a very forgetful person but lately, I can't remember anything. Its horrible!!

Best moment this week: Feeling the baby all the time!!

Nursery Ideas

I have gone back and forth with whether I should just buy baby bedding or have my mom make it. My mom and I went to Joann's and bought the padding for the bumpers and some fabric for sheets and it ended up costing over $100.

After thinking about it, my mom and I decided to return the padding because we figured it wasn't going to save us very much money if we made it. So I have decided to just buy bedding.

I found a website, www.modpeapod.com, that will custom make the bedding with whatever fabric I choose. Or I can just buy a bed set that she has already made. And she does have some super cute ones!! Here are some of my favorite ideas...

I really like the light pinks and whites. I think I have decided to go with a white crib which will look really cute and classy with the light colored bedding.

Cassie's Wedding Week!!

One of my very best friends, Cassie, got married this week!! We have been friends since the 8th grade! This week has definitely been busy but so much fun!

Tuesday was the Bachelorette Party. All the bridesmaids and the bride went to Dallas to a nail salon to get pedicures then we went to The Melting Pot for dinner.

The salon was in Richardson which is about 50 min from Sherman. Well, it ended up taking us 3 hours to get there. Why? Because the iphone navigation system is horrible!! It took us all the way to Dunkenville which is totally on the other side of Dallas. We got in touch with the nail people and they gave us the real directions back to their salon.


Once we got their, we all got pedicures and enjoyed being out of the car! Then we headed over to The Melting Pot....

Oh. My. Word. I can not say enough good things about the Melting Pot. I had never been there before but had only heard good things. It is a bit pricey but a great place to go for special occasions.

For those of you who have never been to The Melting Pot, it is a fondue restaurant. My favorite thing was dessert, of course!! We were brought a plate full of strawberries, cheese cake, marshmellows, pound cake (my fav), and rice crispy treats. Of course we needed some chocolate to dip these delicious goodies in.....my favorite was the creme brulee white chocolate with crushed up oreos. Gives me chills just thinking about how delicous that was!!! mmmm!!!!!

After dinner, we went back to Sher-town for the "party". Cassie opened her gifts and we played a few games then crashed at about 1am.

Wednesday was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. It was super hot!!
Thursday was the big day! They got married on Thursday, June 16th, because it is a family anniversary date and they wanted to keep the tradition. It was the neatest wedding!! The theme was vintage carnival. It was held out at Cassie's parents house. I can not wait to see the professional pictures. They will be stunning!!!

Cassie got in a major car accident the day of her wedding. Yes, I know! It's totally crazy and things like this aren't supposed to happen!! She was t-boned by a truck and the boy driving the truck wasn't old enough to even have a drivers license. He hit her going 60 miles an hour and she was stopped. When help arrived, they didn't think the driver would even be alive. As they approached her car, they were going to have to cut her car to get her out. She was totally fine and climbed out the passenger window. Definitely a God thing!! She did hit her face so she had to go to the hospital to get MRI's and cat scans. Everything looked good but she had a pretty big bruise under her eye.

With all of that said, the wedding was post poned until 8pm. It ended up being perfect timing! The sun was setting and it was absolutely beautiful. Cassie was very proud of her bruise and didn't even want it covered up with make up and she even wore her hospital bracelet!! She looked absolutely amazing!!

The weeks just keep getting shorter and shorter! Time is flying by!

Movement: Definitely feeling the baby alot more lately. Especially in the mornings and late evenings

Sleep: I sleep great!

What I miss: Nothing really

Cravings: Just food in general!

Symptoms: After a long day yesterday, my feet were killing me and back was hurting. Nothing major.

Best moment this week: Picking out the baby bedding!!

Ellie

Let me introduce you to Ellie, Elle, Ellie Kate, Ellie May, Ellie Belly, Ellie Bell. She joined our family about a week ago! She is a Schnauzer/Yorkie mix and she is the most precious little thing in the whole world....sometimes. She is about 9 weeks old.

Besides the fact that she chews on everything, bites (when she plays), pees and poops in the house and somehow manages to get poop on the wall, she is precious!!

She is like having a newborn but worse. She gets up in the night and has to go outside. Why worse? Because she is mobile. We have to watch her every move!! She LOVES to chew on cords, shoes, toes...pretty much anything that will fit in her mouth. We've already had to give her 2 baths because she doesn't quite know how to poop without getting poop all over herself. ha!! Some may think I don't know what a newborn is like, well let me tell you I certainly do! I have done plenty of babysitting and nanny jobs in my life! She really is so sweet though!

She LOVES to snuggle and be close to someone when she sleeps. She likes to be close to your face when she sleeps, its the sweetest thing. She always has to be close to someone. When someone leaves, she follows them. If she can't go with them, she cries. Its so sad!! Ellie has definitely been a joy to our family and I will be sad to leave her when I go back to Germany!

Baby Names

Unfortunately, we dont have a name picked out and won't have one picked out till at least August. Why? Because my sweet husband wants to wait till we both get back to Germany to pick one out together! It is very sweet of him to want to pick one out together but I totally want to hurry and pick a name so I can start getting things monogrammed!! I think I'm going to be the mom that has her kids in monogrammed clothing on a regular basis....

What names out of all of those does my husband like? Bryleigh. Thats it! So I have a feeling this is going to be the hardest decision we will ever make together.

Obviously, I like names that are kind of unique and not very common. I know some of the names on that list are becoming very popular but I still really like them. I don't want to pick a name that is traditional or just plain weird. I want a name that isn't spelled weird so she won't have a hard time learning how to spell and write her name. I want a cute and classy name that will grow with her.

Yes, I do realize I might be too picky. This is a big decision!

21 Weeks!!

Im 21 Weeks today!! Can't believe how fast the weeks are going by! I feel like it was yesterday when I was posting a 20 weeks update!!


Had to cover up my face with the camera. Its not a picture kinda day!


In some pictures, I look really big and then others, I look smaller. Usually the ones that look bigger are right after I have eaten. This picture I feel like I look smaller.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along? 21 weeks!

Size of baby: Our baby girl is the size of a banana

Total weight gain/loss: I have gained 3 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Not yet!

Gender: Its a girl!!!

Movement: I have been feeling her alot today!!! When I woke up this morning, I think she was having a party in there!!

Sleep: I sleep great!!

What I miss: Not really anything this week

Cravings: Don't necessarily crave anything but I have been drinking LOTS of water!! I can't get enough!!

Symptoms: I woke up the other morning with a nose bleed. That was fun.

Best moment this week: Buying the crib and dreaming about the design of my little girls room!!

20 Weeks!

Today, I am 20 weeks pregnant! I am half way there!!! Woo hoo!!! This pregnancy has gone by SO fast for me!!!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along? 20 weeks!

Size of baby: 11 oz and the size of a cantaloupe

Total weight gain/loss: I have gained 3 pounds total

Maternity Clothes: Not yet! I can wear my jeans without a belt now though!! yay!

Gender: Its a GIRL!!!!! (I've been waiting along time to say that)

Movement: Miss Priss moves alot at night and randomly throughout the day.

Sleep: Sleep is great!!

What I miss: A flat stomach?

Cravings: Ice water with lemon (from sonic)

Symptoms: headaches and occassional lower back pain. Nothing too bad though

Best moment this week: Of course it is finding out that we are having a girl!!
