SHOPPING!!!

So yesterday, Bryce and I were supposed to go to Frankfurt to see James Gerety, a great friend of ours. He was in Egypt for a mission trip and on his way back, they stopped in Frankfurt and had a 2 hour overlay. We didnt end up going because we didnt think we would have time to see him and we would have had to go through security. So instead, we went shopping!!!! Bryce took me to an outlet mall which had alot of American stores. It was alot of fun!! I didnt buy anything but Bryce got a great deal on a Columbia jacket. It was only $30!! Originally $100. He loves it!! When we got back last night, I got to talk to Krista Feigel on the phone for awhile!! I love her! It was so nice to talk to her! I attempted to make pasta last night with a tomatoe sauce. I made it for just me because Bryce doesnt like tomatoes and I was craving some tomatoey pasta! Well, it was discusting so I wont post the recipe! Today, I went to the commisary to get some groceries and tonight Bryce and I are going on a date. Were going to Chili's and a movie!! Cant wait!!! Hope your having a fabulous day!

Long days

Since Bryce started work, my days become less and less productive. I dont have a car to go anywhere so I sit at home and try to come up with things to do. Which is usually clean, get on the computer, and read recipe books. So, yesterday, I made Mexican Tator Tot Casserole and it was delicious!! Here is the recipe if you want to try it at home..

Mexican Tator Tot Casserole

1 pound bag of tator tots
1 pound lean ground beef
1 (10 oz) can of Rotel (mild)
1 (14.75 oz) can of corn ( I just used a 12 oz bag)
1 (1 oz) package of taco seasoning
2 (15 oz) cans of green chili enchilada sauce (I just used one can)
1 (2 cups) package of shredded cheddar cheese (I used the mexian blend)

Prepare tater tots as directed for oven version. While tots are cooking, brown ground beef in a frying pan. Drain fat, then add Rotel, corn and taco seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes on low heat. Pour meat mixture on top of tator tots, then pour green chili enchilada sauce on top of meat mixture and layer it with cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

My oven stays really really hot so I only baked mine for about 35 minutes. It was super delicious though!!

After we ate dinner, Bryce and I headed to Baumholder to buy a lamp from a lady. I found the lamp on ramsteinyardsales.com. My favorite place to shop! Its kind of like a Craigs list. We got to Baumholder and followed the directions that the owner gave me. Well, we ended up at a dead end. We drove around the base twice and couldnt find this place. So after driving 30 minutes to Baumholder, we headed back. Its ok that I didnt get the lamp because I really wanted two of the same kind anyways. So it ended up being a 3 hour trip that was supposed to only be an hour.

Yesterday, Bryce found out that his squadron has to stay after work for an hour everyday to study for their upcoming test. They have to stay because some of the guys in his squadron dont know any of the material. Poor Bryce, I felt so sorry for him. So instead of him getting home at 6:30pm, it will now be 7:30pm. Which means he will be working 14 1/2 hour days. When Bryce got home last night, he did research to see if there is a maximum number of hours a military airman is allowed to work. He didnt find anything. He also researched if there is a way he can get out early. Since the Air Force is dropping people because they have too many people in, he is going to see if he can get out after two years. Lets hope and pray they let him!! He is so ready to be out of the military and so am I!!

BABY!!

So for the past two days, I have gotten to spend some quality time with a 4 day old baby girl named, Izzie. She is only 5 pounds and absolutely precious. I love helping her parents out because they dont have any family here to help them. Thats not the only reason why I am helping them though. I absolutely love being around babies and could hold and cuddle with them all day long. Yesterday, I gave her parents a break so they could go take a nap while I watched Izzie. It all went smoothly but Izzie was a little cranky. Found out today, its probably because she was still hungry. After her feeding today, she kept wanting more to eat. Of course your going to have a cranky baby when they are hungry. She has got to be the prettiest newborn I have ever see, seriously!! For some reason the blog wont let me post some pics so go to my facebook to look at them under "Germany".

Surgery

So I went to the dentist a couple of weeks ago and they said my teeth look great!! I went home very satisfied not thinking anything was wrong. Well I got a phone call that evening saying I need surgery to get my lower wisdom tooth out asap. He said I have a brown spot that they are concerned about. I didnt ask very many questions until he called me back a couple of days ago to schedule the surgery consultation. I asked about the "brown" spot. He said I have an ulcer behind my wisdom tooth with a brown spot on it and they need to remove it and then send it to a specialist so he can examine the ulcer. I am scheduled to go in on August 10th so I can sit and listen to them describing what the surgery will be like.

If you know me, I have never ever ever had any kind of surgery, broken bone, cavity, scraped knee...ok so maybe ive had a scraped knee but I have never had anything serious happen to me. I am so scared about this surgery!!! Please keep me in your prayers...

Hike

So, this past Sunday, Bryce and I went on a hike along the Germany/France border. It was the most challenging thing I have ever done! We woke up at 6am. We had to be at the BX ready to go by 7:45am. We left at around 9am and road in a van for about an hour and a half. We arrived and started our hike at around 11am. It was pretty much uphill the entire hike. We hiked to a couple of castles and our final destination was a look out where we could see Switzerland. We ate lunch on top of the look out and then headed our way back down. Coming down the mountain was more challenging for me personally because it really works your calf and butt muscles. My butt has been sore for the past 3 days! ugh! Maybe its a good thing! :) When we got back from the trip, Bryce and I went straight for a nap!! We took a long nap cause we only got 4 hours of sleep the night before. It was a ton of fun and a great experience!! We hiked about 4 miles in less than 3 hours. The tour guide said we finished an hour early!! No wonder we were so exhausted!!

Also, today, my friend Ashley Neri had her baby girl!!! She was born at around 6:30 this morning and weighs 5 pounds 1 ounce. Bryce and I cant wait to go see her this evening. Her name is Izzy, short for Isabella. She was born about 2 weeks early. Ashleys fluid levels were really low so they had to induce her. Its funny because our other friend, Kristie Mimms, is due in November and she is naming her girl Bella, short for Isabelle. Appariently, its the most popular name at the moment.

Bryce had a dentist appointment this morning and got 2 more teeth filled. He cant really eat much today. I feel so bad for him. I just hope after all this work is done on his mouth, he will start to feel better!!

Finally Finished...almost!

Ok. So for the past week or so, I have been unpacking and decorating. I am almost finished!! The only thing left is the guest room, which is full of boxes. The movers are supposed to come back and get them but I'm not sure when. There are a couple of other boxes full of books which will have to wait until we get a book shelf. Enjoy the pics!!

Shipment Arrived!!

Our stuff got here today!!!! YAY!!! I called the moving company this morning to see when they would get here because they told me they would call yesterday to let me know, but they never did. I called them at 8am and they told me it would arrive between 9 and 12pm. Immediately when I got off the phone with her, the moving crew called me and said, we are at the gate, can you come sign us in? haha!! Good thing I was up and ready! It took them about an hour to unload everything and they set our bed and dining room table up for us. I started unpacking as soon as they left. I hoped I would at least get the kitchen finished. Needless to say, it is FAR from finished!!!! I got most of the dishes washed but I still have the pots and pans to wash. And a ton of other stuff! So far, it is looking pretty good!!
Bryce has been super sweet to me today so I gave in and let him buy the new xbox 360. The good thing is, you can watch movies off of it so we dont have to buy a dvd player! :) Since I let him get the xbox, he said he would buy me a bed! Praise the Lord for the reimbursement we got back from moving! Its nice to get $180 a day for food for the first 30 days we were here! :) It really stunk paying out of pocket at first but the reimbursement check is super nice!! Especially since we didn't spend $180 a day for food so we actually made money out of it! Bryce works tomorrow and Sunday so it looks like I will be staying super busy! Kinda stinks that he has to work over the weekend though. I will post pics as soon as I get everything situated! Here is a pic of the process today...
